February 22 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, a designated day to bring awareness to this horrific crime in Canada and around the world. The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking commends those who are recognizing this day, advocating on behalf of victims and survivors and taking necessary actions to end this human rights abuse.
The Centre’s team is continuing its work in establishing the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline with a launch date of late Spring 2019. The hotline will assist victims and survivors by connecting them with local support services and law enforcement, as well as taking tips from the public.
Today, we invite all service providers and law enforcement who haven’t already done so, to register as referral partners for the hotline’s National Referral Directory. The referral directory is a crucial component of the hotline to connect callers with local service providers and law enforcement in communities across the country.
Service providers
If you are direct service provider, please click here to review the referral directory application guidelines and complete the application form. Once completed, a partnership specialist will follow up with you to complete the application process and discuss next steps.
Service providers needed for the National Referral Directory include:
- Case management
- Counselling
- Housing (emergency and transitional)
- Legal support
- Substance abuse & treatment
- Transportation
